About Me

When I developed schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type (a combination of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder) in 2018, I thought my life was over. But then I discovered the healing power of advocacy work through first working as the Mental Health 101 Program Manager for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, San Francisco; then as the Training Institute Coordinator at the Mental Health Association of San Francisco; and then as the Community Engagement Manager for Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance. My advocacy work centers around public education and stigma reduction, and I draw upon my proven track record in the nonprofit sector to create this impact.

My work has appeared on Slate; Psychology Today, who deemed it an Essential Read; MSN; HuffPost; the Associated Press; and the television network A+E. I hold a B.A. in American Studies from UC Berkeley.
